I shot the sheriff

but this song isn't about how I didn't shoot the deputy.

I've been practicing a new song I wrote! But then I thought, well, I cold upload the lyrics! Finally a blog about some actual songwriting business again.

It's not really called "I shot the sheriff" by the way. It's called

MY HANDS
I shot the sheriff, in his house
and as the blood was flowing
it was quiet as a mouse

Can't somebody help me?
Can't somebody see what I have done?

Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you do what my brain said
Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you shoot him in the head

The policemen came in,
and they took me away
They put me in a dark, so dark, dark place

Darkness can't you help me?
Darkness can't you make the blood undone?

Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you do what my brain said
Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you shoot him in the head

I looked at my hands, they were red
these hands that once were mine
now belonged to death

Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you do what my brain said
Hands, why did you help me?
Why did you shoot him,
why did you shoot him in the head

I plead not guilty
I am innocent
I plead not guilty
It wasn't me it was my hands

And I'm busy on 2 new ones, who are going slooooww... can't seem to make progress with them. Ah well, maybe this sunny weather will help.

Love,
Fleur

  1. Inhoudelijk spreekt het me aan, maar zoals ik het lees lijkt de tekst wat stroef. Als het gezongen wordt kan dat echter heel anders zijn, dus ik ben benieuwd naar de uitvoering :)

    Geniet van de zon!
