we're all gonna die when the building blows.
And it is summer break! Finally! Well, for a while now actually already. But I've been having such a great time I forgot to post something here. I've been having parties, doing shopping, seen relatives, and today, started on my summer job. Working at the swimmingpool just like last year. Terribly busy in the morning, and only about 15 people in the afternoon.
I haven't really started on a song yet.. I haven't even really played and sang a lot yet! Though I tried to remember the bit I knew how to play from Sur Le Fil (Yann Tiersen's Amelie soundtrack), and I managed. Whoopee.
I just finished reading Going Postal by Terry Pratchett, which was awesome! Funny, good story and a great way of bringing it.
And now I'm halfway George Orwell's 1984 which is really exciting up until now and, from what I've heard, only will become more exciting!http://comicnrrd.livejournal.com/
She draws funny comics :)
I was at the American Book Centre this weekend (I bought Crake and Onyx by Margaret Atwood, and Enduring Love by Ian McEwan) and damn, it made me realize there are SO MANY books I want to read! Everything my Haruki Murakami, everything by Margaret Atwood, more of John Steinbeck, Lord of The Flies, Animal Farm, Love in the time of Cholera.. and probably about 200 books more I saw there in the ABC.. (which, by the way, is one of the best bookstores (for english) EVER.) We also went to Waterstones, which is British and equally amazing. Can't believe I'd never been there before! I will definitely go visit both now every time I'm in Amsterdam.
Well.. I guess this is all I have to say for today.
I'm thinking about writing/drawing a little story with images for my unborn nephew (which will be born somewhere in 2 weeks!!) but I'm not really sure what the story should be about yet.. except that the main character, of course, is a cat.
Time for dinner!
Love,
Fleur
